What are some signs and/or symptoms that your child may benefit from a Speech and Language evaluation?
- Is not understood by others
- Is frustrated with communicating
- Is not speaking and following directions like other peers his/her age
- Is doing poorly in school
- Has difficulties with reading and/or writing
- Has difficulties interacting with peers
- Seems to have difficulties communicating with peers
- Has difficulties retelling a story or event These lists are not all-inclusive and an evaluation is necessary to determine if therapy is appropriate for each child
What are some signs and/or symptoms that your child may benefit from an Oral Motor or Feeding evaluation?
- Your child has feeding and swallowing difficulties
- Your child refuses to eat new foods or textures
- Your child does not tolerate or limits fruits, vegetables, meats, or combined textures
- Your child spits out or pockets food in cheeks
- Your child tires from chewing
- Your child coughs or chokes during the intake of foods or beverages
- You make a separate meal for your child
- These lists are not all-inclusive and an evaluation is necessary to determine if therapy is appropriate for each child
- For children who are experiencing speech and language difficulties, early intervention is the key to their development and success
